Let me tell you a story about me. Some years ago, I started going to the gym. You get there, you lift and push some weights and as a result, your muscles grow. It’s a simple process, but man… I think it’s beautiful and I felt totally in love with it. I just couldn’t wait to go back there again so I could lift more weight and become stronger. So, what did I do? I started training every day. Every single day I was there pushing those weights and some other days I was there running. That’s the catabolic part. Explained in a straightforward way, catabolism it’s when you go on offence mode and break down your muscle fibres so that when they, they grow bigger and stronger. I felt like a warrior! But then, after a few days of doing that, I got completely burnt out…There I quickly realized I forgot the other side of the coin, something very important… the anabolic part.
